Morningsong Studios: Art For All Ages

Suzy Rose’s much-loved summer art and nature program for children returns for 2026!

Learning art skills enhances a child’s self-esteem, creativity, and dexterity. In this fun and relaxed outdoor program on Suzy's 42 acre homestead, children ages 6-13 are guided in inspiring explorations of nature and creative self-expression. They are encouraged to discover their own artistic interests, ideas, and styles in painting, drawing, and mixed media, and are also free to use the time for other creative pursuits, such as journaling and building fairy houses in the woods (a perennial favorite!).

*This summer, an extended hours option is being offered for all sessions. Please note that the longer day may not be appropriate for some children, such as some younger ones. Please contact Suzy to discuss.

Another session or two may be offered if these three are filling up and there is still more demand, or if some families need different weeks to fit into their summer plans. Please get in touch even if none of the above listed sessions work for your schedule.

Suzy’s homestead is on Marsh Road in Danby, 15 minutes drive from downtown Ithaca (address provided during registration).

Please be sure your child is well outfitted with weather-appropriate clothing, footwear for hiking, a sun hat, sunscreen, bug repellent, a snack, and a water bottle. We will make our art outdoors as well, under a shelter if it’s raining. Children also need to bring their own art supplies, which we will discuss more during registration (we can also help provide for children who need something they didn’t bring).

$225.00 per child per session, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. 
$395.00 per child for extended hours, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
Scholarships available. Class size is limited, so registering as early as possible is a good idea!

For many children, their enjoyment is multiplied by having a friend or sibling to share the experience with, so we encourage all families to coordinate with others, and carpool, too, if possible.
