DUE TO POVERTY, ABOUT ONE IN FIVE CHILDREN IN THE UNITED STATES MIGHT NOT GET A GOOD MEAL TODAY.

Thank you for your interest in Morningsong Community Service Farm, a small not-for-profit initiative in Tompkins County, New York.
Our mission is to help ensure that every person in our community, young and old, has enough fresh, nutritious food to eat every day.

With the help of caring and engaged people like yourself, we produce farm fresh food for donation to community members in need through local food pantries and meal programs, while also serving as a resource to support people in producing their own food and moving toward greater self reliance.

As is the average for the country as a whole, approximately 20% of children growing up in our area experience food insecurity. Elderly people and others are affected as well. Altogether, about 13.5% of our neighbors experience food insecurity.

There is much that we can all do to address this serious problem. Until it is solved, there is a pressing need, every day, for a steady supply of nutritious food for our local food pantries and meal programs. We have been inspired by the work of organizations such as Friendship Donations Network and Loaves and Fishes to dedicate our small farm to the production of fresh, nutritious foods to donate to programs such as these.

By partnering with these local programs and producing food expressly for donation to them, we can provide specific types of foods according to what is most needed. One of our main focuses is producing eggs, because eggs are not regularly donated by grocery stores and farms (a popular item with a very long shelf life, they are usually all sold). With your support, we can produce lots and lots of these miraculous natural packages of high protein, super nutritious, delicious food and make a very meaningful contribution to meeting the needs of growing children and others in our community who face hunger and poor nutrition without our help.
